Nice mention in Boing Boing
On 07/06/2013 at 13:06The Youth Voices Summer Program had a nice mention in Boing Boing yesterday:
Our campaign is picking up steam! With our $5,000 donation (not included here), we are close to halfway to our goal.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed, and keep spreading the word and encouraging donations.

Very good news!
On 06/06/2013 at 14:28Today we received a very generous $5000 gift for the Youth Voices summer program from a longtime NYCWP member's family fund. She says, "Gotta keep those kids writing!"
We agree, and we are deeply grateful! Although the gift is not on this campaign site, together with the funds raised on the site we are now almost halfway to our goal with 14 days left!
It is now more important than ever that we go to the next level. Help us move the needle even more. Please donate and continue to spread the word. Thank you!

Will trade lettuce for Youth Voices support
On 02/06/2013 at 22:45A guest post by Karen Fasimpaur, Youth Voices supporter
I think that having a healthy, local food supply is important....and I live 50 miles from a grocery store, so I grow a lot of my own produce. With loads of sunshine here and only two in our household, I often grow more than we can eat and so share with my neighbors.
One neighbor always insists on paying me for what I give her, even though I don't want payment. Today I gave her two bags of lettuce and said, "Instead of paying me, it would be really great if you could make a donation to this amazing youth summer program." She happily made a generous donation well in excess of any amount of produce I could provide.
If anyone else would like some free produce in exchange for a Youth Voices donation, stop by. :)
And thanks to everyone who's contributed. We are on our way!

And we are up and running!
On 22/05/2013 at 19:18The Youth Voices Summer Program fundraising campaign has officially launched!
One day in, we have collected $535 and a lot of enthusiastic support. Thank you to all our early supporters, both those who have pledged money and those who have helped spread the word.
Anything you can do to share information about this project will be greatly appreciated. Twitter, G+, Facebook, email, phone, and face-to-face contacts are all great.
We have an ambitious goal, but are confident we can succeed with the help of good friends like you.
Check back here for further updates, and again, thank you!
